Bryan Heller is the Co-founder and COO of Covalynt and brings nearly 20 years of experience applying rigorous, high-stakes data analysis to complex, regulated problems. Based in New Jersey, Bryan began his career as an environmental consulting engineer in 2006, spending nearly two decades managing large-scale site remediation and landfill gas-to-energy projects—both of which demanded the processing and analysis of millions of data points under direct state and federal regulatory oversight.
In site remediation work, Bryan analyzed vast repositories of organic chemistry results to inform decisions with direct implications for human health and exposure to carcinogenic contaminants. In the energy space, he led the review of complex gas composition, flow, and emissions data to optimize onsite collection and production systems. In both disciplines, the analyses were formally regulated and subject to scrutiny by government agencies—requiring multiple lines of evidence to establish data quality and defensibility.
Outside of his engineering practice, Bryan pursued a parallel interest in human performance, coaching wrestling and earning a sports nutritionist certification. Applying the same data discipline he used in environmental work, he developed a fitness application for athletes that automated strength training and nutrition programming using AI-driven analytics—an early demonstration of his ability to translate complex data science into practical software solutions.
The convergence of these two threads—high-scrutiny regulated data analysis and applied software development—led Bryan to co-found ClaimScore in 2023 alongside Don Beshada. Recognizing that class action settlements faced many of the same core challenges as regulated environmental data—fragmented records, questionable data quality, and the need for defensible, reproducible methodology—Bryan helped architect the technical foundation for what has since grown into Covalynt's full litigation data science platform. As COO, he oversees product, engineering, marketing, customer success, and operations, and co-leads the company's sales efforts, ensuring that Covalynt's solutions are built, delivered, and positioned to meet the rigorous demands of modern complex litigation.
